Well what can i say but the weather is too hot and i would rather be fishing than sitting here composing this page, lol .Then again someone has to do it.
Over the last 4 months we have had a lot of matches or what we call fun days out with a little added bonus if you win,There have been numerous winners with some people going on to win more than their share (Lorna & Dave) but we have plans afoot to stop this which includes a pair of scissors and their nets .
Some of our members have also caught personal best fish on the matches which is allways good to hear,Well done Jonathon & Emma.
The club itself has been expanding in numbers and i would like to take this oppotunity to welcome all the new members and wish them a very happy and successfull stay with our club.
As you might be aware we have another Openday on August 16th at Hall Farm , Benfleet.For those not sure of where this is you take the A130 exit towards Chelmsford at Sadlers Farm Roundabout and then take the first slip road on your left , There is plenty of parking right next to the lake we will be running various stalls including a BBQ ,Tombola for adults and children ,Raffle and other stalls of interest, so we hope you will all be able to come and have a great days fishing free of charge.
Southend Mencap will also be gracing us with their prescence on the day and we will need some people to show them how to fish, dont worry if you have no fishing equipment as we will be able to supply an assortment of gear on the day.
Last Wednesday a few of us were invited to fish a competition at Banjo lake, owned and run by Lee Valley Angling ,Although the fishing was very hard due to weather (too hot ) Miss Angie Strike won her first match with EDAC. I would also like to thank Lee and his team who arranged the day as we had a wonderful time and you could not ask for a better host .(cheers lee )
